The Traffic Group

Sports + Entertainment

For sporting events, typically patrons arrive over a 60- to 90-minute period which creates some challenges from a traffic point of view, but the arrival is nothing compared to the departure when 40,000 to 80,000 patrons want to leave at the same time.

It almost does not matter whether the patrons are in a parking garage or a surface level parking lot, the same level of congestion occurs. The Traffic Group has studied the impacts of baseball stadiums, indoor basketball arenas, Formula 1 racing, and casinos. Each study has its own set of circumstances, metrics, and challenges, and no two venues – sports or entertainment – are alike.
