FIELD TECHNICIAN/TRAFFIC COUNTER
Interested candidates should possess the following:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Valid Driver’s License w/excellent driving record
- Must obtain a negative drug test prior to hire and maintain throughout employment
- Must meet TTG’s company policies and standards as well as federal and state laws regarding a background check
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50lbs while loading vehicle and setting up/removing work zone
- Safety conscious and must pass or already hold Basic Work Zone Safety Training Course
- Ability to work flexible hours including overtime and travel the State with overnight stays
- Excellent map reading skills and pass a map test
- Work outdoors in a variety of climates and conditions
- Good communication, organizational and problem solving skills
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Google Earth
As a Field Technician, you will be responsible for assisting in installing, removing, downloading, summarizing and submitting various types of traffic counts and equipment. It is a fast-paced job that is labor intensive. You will be required to work in and around the roadway. Your actions will not only account for your safety but the safety of your fellow employees and the motoring public. You will be provided with paid classroom and on the job training as well as safety courses.
CONSTRUCTION TECHNICIAN FOR CONTINUOUS-COUNT STATIONS
Interested candidates should possess the following:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Valid Driver’s License w/excellent driving record
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening as well as random testing
- Travel both in and out of state for up to several weeks at a time
- Ability and willingness to work nights
- Ability to repeatedly lift 50 lbs., reach, stoop, bend
- Ability to use tools and equipment from handheld to large gasoline-driven saws
- Ability to work in a bucket truck or man lift
- Ability to operate a walk-behind concrete saw
- General construction experience or underground utility work
- Must meet company policies and standards as well as federal and state laws regarding a background check
Additional Experience Preferred:
- Proficient in the use of digital voltmeter and various equipment for testing
- Equipment operation such as bucket truck, excavator, trencher, skid steer, man lift
- Traffic control standards and involvement in application
- Experience with light electrical work and associated hand tools
- Experience with traffic counting equipment – Diamond, PEEK, Q-Free
- Experience with inductive traffic loops and axle sensors
As Lead Technician for Continuous-Count Stations, you will be responsible for operating a range of equipment. Tasks include excavating and installing pole foundations, poles, concrete bases, and junction boxes, as well as overseeing contractors when necessary. Additionally, the position involves using a bucket truck to install solar panels, cameras, and various other equipment. The use of a concrete saw to place inductive loops and sensors within the roadway is also required.
Further responsibilities include pulling wire through underground conduits and installing and ensuring operational status of various equipment within cabinets. Accurate recordkeeping is essential, with the need to document work with photographs and various records. The role demands troubleshooting and repairs on existing Continuous-Count Station infrastructure and conducting temporary road closures for work zones across different roadway types.
The candidate will also supervise a small crew to ensure safety, efficiency, and timely job completion, and be responsible for the safe transport of crew and equipment to and from the job site. Adherence to all safety requirements to protect both themselves and others on site is mandatory. This position requires a skilled individual who can manage multiple tasks efficiently and ensure the smooth operation of traffic systems.
