Mixed-Use

The challenge with mixed-use developments is shared parking. Can office users park in the same spaces during the day where residential users might be parking at night? Can nighttime restaurant patrons use the spaces that were occupied by office employees during the day? Can Saturday retail shoppers use the office space that is normally occupied by office employees during the week?

At night when the demand for hotel parking is at its peak, retail shops are closed, office buildings are empty, but residential development needs parking during the same time as the hotel users. The parking issue becomes critical and shared parking results is a different type of trip generation than what you might expect. It is our job to provide the minimal amount of parking with the maximum amount of comfort for all users within a mixed-use development.
