Takoma Park – For this urban hospital, there was a major access off a two-lane roadway and a minor access off a second two-lane roadway. The hospital was set up in a longitudinal manner and access, circulation, and parking became difficult. The Traffic Group worked closely with Washington Adventist Hospital to show them how they could manage circulation, access, and parking by better utilizing existing lane use.
White Oak – The hospital selected a parcel of land located along a minor collector road and needed to meet Adequate Public Facilities following Local Area Transportation Review Guidelines in Montgomery County, Maryland. As a result of our traffic impact study, it was determined that multiple roadways required widening to reduce congestion and to reduce delays and queuing along the major roadways serving the site. The Traffic Group has provided consultation on this project from the rezoning of the property to construction. Our services included traffic counts, queuing analyses, and access and circulation consultation.
