National Business Park

The purpose of conducting the traffic analysis for this site was to determine if the buildout of 3,500,000 square feet of office space could be accommodated with an access point to the north at MD 175 and an access point to the south at MD 32. The National Business Park site has limited access and we needed to accommodate over 21,000 trips per day which resulted in 2,000 morning peak hour trips. The questions became, “how could that possibly occur without creating a capacity nightmare for the state highway system?” To address this concern, The Traffic Group conducted detailed analysis and trip generation studies and made recommendations to ensure safe and adequate access. As a result of our work, at no point in time has the access experienced capacity or safety issues.
