Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center

The Traffic Group undertook a traffic impact study to determine the traffic impacts of increasing the on-site development totals of the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center Campus in multiple phases – from 2.3 million square feet to 3.4 million square feet and then to determine the impacts of increasing the development to 5.0 million square feet. As part of the study, we conducted traffic counts at 10 major intersections, performed a license plate survey of all vehicles along Bayview Boulevard to determine cut thru traffic percentages, determined intersection improvements, and prepared traffic signal modifications plans. Roundabout design plans were also developed for a new main access located along Bayview Boulevard.

As a As a result of our study, it was determined that with minor improvements the site would not create an adverse effect on traffic conditions onsite and offsite.
