I-66 Origin & Destination Study in Northern Virginia

The Traffic Group was brought on board to assist Transurban engineers with their pursuit of a Public-Private Partnership (PPP or P3) for High Occupancy Toll (HOT) scenarios for the busiest corridor in Northern Virginia. These lanes change the lives of tens of thousands of commuters each day traveling from Gainesville/Manassas to the Capital Beltway. The Traffic Group installed more than 100 pieces of equipment to track the movement of vehicles on and off the Interstate, with dozens of interchanges accommodating 100,000+ cars entering and exiting every day. The HOT Lanes are not just “Lexus Lane.” Due to those using HOT Lanes, non-HOT Lane motorists are reducing their travel time by 40%.
