The Traffic Group’s Haberkam to Speak at Wilmington Area Planning Council – Haberkam to Discuss Driverless Cars

BALTIMORE, MD (11/2/16) — The Traffic Group, Inc.’s (TTG) Renata Haberkam will be a featured speaker at the Wilmington Area Planning Council’s (WILMAPCO) Our Town 2016 The Future of Transportation, taking place in Wilmington, Delaware on November 2.

One of its areas of focus is on the future of transportation, which includes new technologies, such as driverless cars. Haberkam’s presentation, entitled, The Impact of Driverless Cars and TNCs on Parking and Real Estate, will address driverless and connected vehicles – and the need to plan now for the future.

The conference will highlight transportation innovations and technologies of the future. Technology will continue to improve how we get around by reducing emissions, improving safety, and making vehicles more efficient and reliable. Cars will use wireless technology to communicate with each other and warn drivers of congestion and accidents. Crash avoidance systems, using sensors embedded in the roadways, will help prevent accidents.

Haberkam is the Director of Business Development at The Traffic Group, managing firm’s marketing efforts and strategies, overseeing the preparation of, proposals, and heading the firm’s public relations program. Haberkam is active in the local chapters of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) and Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS).  She is the immediate Past President of ARTMA (Annapolis Regional Transportation Management Association).
