The Traffic Group Provides Donation to the Humane Society of Harford County

Baltimore, MD (11/09/2020) – The Traffic Group, Inc. (TTG) – one of the nation’s leading SDVOSB traffic engineering and transportation planning firms – has provided a donation to the Humane Society of Harford County in the amount of $1,000.

Joe Caloggero, P.E., PTOE, PTP, Vice President at The Traffic Group and a board member of the Humane Society of Harford County, presented a check to the shelter in October. The current donation from The Traffic Group will go towards heating the building this winter, providing vaccinations for the homeless animals in their care, and more.

As a result of COVID-19, the Humane Society of Harford County had to cancel all but one of its signature fundraising events this year, which resulted in a significant loss of income.

“Like so many other non-profits and charitable organizations, the Humane Society of Harford County has been hit hard due to the global pandemic,” says Jen Swanson, Executive Director of the Humane Society of Harford County. “Most of our supporters don’t realize we do not receive funding from national organizations like the Humane Society of the United States, meaning, we are responsible for raising and securing our own funding, making it more difficult during down times to cover all our expenses.”

“We are truly grateful to the individuals and organizations, like The Traffic Group, who are routinely and regularly providing support – it allows us to continue caring for the approximately 3,500 animals at our shelter,” continues Swanson.

“The Humane Society of Harford County is such an important organization to the community, providing a safe place for homeless animals to live and receive medical care while they are waiting for their forever homes,” says Caloggero. “We were thrilled to be able to help the animals and staff at the shelter.”

Beyond their support of the Humane Society of Harford County, The Traffic Group also supports Believe in Tomorrow, Carson’s Scholars Foundation, Folds of Honor, Catch a Lift Fund, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Harford Family House, and The Society of Italian American Businessmen.
