The Traffic Group has performed various data collection, traffic studies, and traffic engineering design services for the Howard County General Hospital Campus. A traffic impact analysis was prepared for a 120,000 square foot tower addition. The study was completed in accordance with the County Adequate Public Facilities requirements and was reviewed and approved by the county. As part of the services provided for that expansion, a parking occupancy study was completed for the campus to identify potential parking needs for the expansion of the hospital. Traffic Engineering design plans were prepared for relocation of the access, including Signing and Pavement Marking Plans and Maintenance of Traffic plans and another traffic impact analysis was conducted for a 164,000 square foot Medical Pavilion which was added to the campus. Traffic safety and operations analyses were undertaken and alternatives to improve operations and wayfinding were developed, with detailed design plans prepared for a selected roundabout option. Signing and Marking plans were prepared for review and approval by the county and a traffic evaluation was also undertaken for county approval of the psychiatric addition to the hospital.
