American City and County – Nearly 20 years ago, the first federally funded effort aimed at making it both safer and easier for students to walk and bike to school act was enacted. Since then, Safe Routes to School (SRTS) initiatives have been implemented in hundreds of communities nationwide, many of which produced astounding results.
